Kenwood Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of every child and young person we work with. Every tutor on our roster is vetted thoroughly before being introduced to any family, and we take any safeguarding concern seriously and act on it promptly.

How we vet every tutor

Before any tutor is introduced to your family, they will have completed:

• A structured interview assessing their experience, approach, and suitability to work with children
• Two references, including someone who has directly observed them teaching, tutoring, or working with children or young people
• An enhanced DBS check, registered on the Update Service where possible, re-verified every year, not just once
• Identity verification, carried out as part of the DBS application process

While your tutor is in your home

We ask every family to:

• Ensure a responsible adult is present in the property throughout any session involving a student under 18

We ask every tutor to:

• Maintain clear, professional boundaries at all times
• Avoid any private or unsupervised contact with a student outside agreed sessions
• Never contact a student directly via personal social media or messaging outside the context of agreed tutoring

If you ever have a concern

Please contact us directly and as soon as possible. We will listen, take it seriously, and act, whether that means a conversation with the tutor, additional support, or ending a placement entirely.
